Dale S. Dudley, 63, Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls.
Dale was born in Sioux Falls on April 29, 1956 to Phillip and Eva (Redwing) Dudley. He was raised in Egan, SD, where he was active in sports, graduating from Egan High School in 1975. He married Bonnie Johnson in April of 1978 in Flandreau, then lived in Brookings and graduated from SDSU in 1990 with a degree in sociology and human services. He lived in many communities for the next several years as a counselor. Dale moved to Sioux Falls in 2006 and worked as a taxi driver until 2019 when he became a resident of the Clark Care Center and Rehab.  Dale was a member of GA and AA, an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan, enjoyed nature, being outdoors, loved the Black Hills and a deep belief in God. Dale commented that without sobering up on April 18, 1982 with 37 years continues sobriety, all one day at a time, he would not have graduated from college or enjoyed other experiences.
Dale is survived by two children: Jennifer Dudley, Brookings and Derek Dudley, Madison, SD; seven grandchildren: Tanner (Paige), Morgan, Riley, Kelcie, Isabelle, Bryce and Connor: six siblings: Mary (Tony) Gonsor, Custer, SD, Patty Johanson, Flandreau, Barb (Guy) Fairbanks, Maplewood, MN, Kristi Gallagher, Rapid City, SD, Bob (Linda) Dudley, Rio Rancho, NM, and Phil Dudley, Rapid City, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a brother, Kevin Dudley.
Services are tentatively set for 2:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Church of the Good Shepherd in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
