COLMAN – Chester Area picked up a four-set win over Colman-Egan on Monday night in Colman.
The Flyers won by set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 15-25, and 25-12.
The Hawks’ Mackenzie Hemmer posted a double-double, recording 15 kills and 15 digs.
Hailey Larson added eight kills, two service aces, and a pair of blocks, while Daniela Lee logged five kills and dug up 17 balls.
Lee and Kadance Landis also scored aces for Colman-Egan as the Hawks tallied four in the match.
Berkley Groos added 16 digs for Colman-Egan.
Ava Mousel and Lanie Mousel posted 15 and 13 set assists, respectively.
For Chester Area, Breckyn Ewoldt had 12 kills and two blocks, and Jayda Kenyon added 10 kills.
Lily VanHal posted a game-high 26 set assists, while Carly Becker added 19.
Emery Larson had 34 digs for Chester Area, who improved their season record to 18-5.
Colman-Egan falls to 16-3 on the year.
The Hawks were to host Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Monday, Oct. 11.
COLMAN – Colman-Egan picked up it second win of the season stopping Estelline/Hendricks at Fritz Field Friday evening, 52-20.
No other stats were available.
The Hawks are now 2-6 on the season and will play the final regular season game at home Friday against a to be determined opponent.
WHITE – Colman-Egan placed second with 25 team points in the Dakota Valley Conference girls’ cross country meet last Wednesday, Oct. 6. at Six-Mile Creek. Arlington scored 11 points to easily claim team honors.
Presley Luze (22:07.21) and Reese Luze (22:22.84) finished fourth and fifth place, respectively. Seventh grader Anya Hemmer medaled with her 17th place finish (23:56.58). Elaina Rhode just missed medaling taking 21st place finish and Abby Rhode took 23rd. Medals were presented to the top 20 runners.
Kaelyn Ulschmid of Arlington, an eighth-grader, ran the course in 21:07.62 for first place honors.
In the JV 3000 meter run, Grace Quick took 9th and Sharlee Costine was 10th for the Hawks.
Next up for the team is the Region 2B meet today (Wednesday) at Dell Rapids.
