Classic games unkind to local girls’ teams

The Fliers led 10-8 after a quarter, but Hamlin put together a 22-13 run in the second to go up 30-23 at halftime. The Chargers pushed their advantage to 45-35 heading into the final frame and then held off a Flandreau rally to stay unbeaten with a 3-0 mark.
Logan Keszler led three players in double figures for Hamlin with 18 points as she dished out four assists and came up with two steals. Brynn Alfson added 15 points and nine rebounds while Cami Stevenson finished with 11 points and three dimes.
Maria Parsley’s 16 points and eight rebounds led Flandreau, 2-2. Hannah Parsley had 12 points, six boards and four steals as Ashtyn Bertram chipped in with 10 points.

On Tuesday, the Fliers play host to Castlewood.

Deuel 58, Colman-Egan 42
The Hawks led 17-16 after a quarter before Deuel went up 32-29 at halftime. The Cardinals increased their lead to 43-39 through three and then pulled away with a 15-3 run in the fourth.
Jaydyn TeGantvoort dropped a game-high 26 points for Deuel, to go along with seven rebounds, four steals and two assists. Britney Lovre added 19 points, four boards, four takeaways and a pair of dimes as the Cardinals won their first game to go to 1-2.
Braiden Westley’s 17 points led Colman-Egan, 1-2. Mackenzie Hemmer finished with a game-high 10 rebounds as the Hawks held a 29-19 edge in boards.
On Thursday, Colman-Egan plays host to Oldham-Ramona/Rutland.
