Carolyn Lee, age 82, of Colman, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior Friday, October 8, 2021.
Carolyn Blanche Stassen was born November 17, 1938, to Hubert and Blanche (Ross) Stassen of Marshall, MN. She grew up on a farm and attended school at Holy Redeemer Elementary and Central Catholic High School graduating in 1956. On September 3, 1958 Carolyn married Ralph Lee at Marshall, MN. After two years in Russell, MN they returned to live on the Lee family farm near Colman where he farmed and they raised their six children. In addition to helping on the farm while raising their family she worked for several years as a waitress at Prairie Junction in Colman, SD until 1975 when she began working at 3M in Brookings, SD.  She retired from 3M in 1995 and continued in retirement on the farm until the passing of Ralph on November 6, 2020 at which time she moved to an apartment in Colman. She often said the things that brought her the most joy were buying gifts for others, spending time with her great grandkids, her cats, and visits from friends and family.
Grateful for having shared her life are her six children: Randy Lee of Colman, Raymon Lee of New York City, Lisa (Rodney) Paulson of Colman, Scott (Jennifer) Lee of Sioux Falls, Lora (Brad) Hesby of Madison and Kelly (Patty) Lee of Colman; grandchildren: Ryan, Rachel, Caitlin, Forrest, Justin, Tobey, Ross, and Kaden; six great grandchildren;  her siblings: Ken Stassen of Faribault, MN, Jerome (Bev) Stassen of Minneapolis, MN, Roger (Fran) Stassen of Marshall, MN, Marlene (Bob) Tyson of Sioux Falls, SD and Joyce Mazzitello of Inver Grove Heights, MN.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, parents, and a younger brother Kevin Stassen.  
Public visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 12, 2021 with a 6:45 pm prayer service all at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Colman. Burial will be held Thursday morning in a graveside ceremony at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, rural Colman. www.skrochfc.com
