Flandreau resident Derek Burshiem participated in this year’s South Dakota Golf Association Senior Golf Championship held at the Madison Country Club over the weekend.
Derek took the overall trophy at the two-day championship golf event by shooting a 79 on Saturday and a 73 on Sunday.
Derek has enjoyed golf his entire life, with many accomplishments on his record.
Over the years, he has won S.D. State Pre-Senior Tournament, won with his partner the S.D. State Two-Man Tournament, was named the State Men’s Golfer of the Year in 2013 and has finished second in the S.D. State Amateur Tournament.
