Bonnie R. O’Brien, age 66, of Trent, SD, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD.
Bonita Rose “Bonnie” was born November 16, 1951 in Volga, SD, to Raymond and Isabell (Hirzel) Corcoran. She attended Vance Country School and Flandreau High School. Bonnie married Ron Christensen and they had two daughters, Lisa and Laurie. They lived in Sioux Falls and she worked various jobs. Bonnie moved to Trent in December 2001 and married Bob O’Brien in Flandreau, SD, on October 8, 2004. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed taking care of others, always putting them before herself.
Bonnie is survived by her husband: Bob; her daughter: Laurie Christensen, Sioux Falls; her son-in-law: Steve Jacob, Gillette, WY; two grandchildren: Jace (Sage) Jacob, Casper, WY and Zane Sampson, Canton, SD; two great grandchildren: Paul and Eva; eight siblings: Betty Martens, Sioux Falls; Michael (Deanna) Corcoran, Flandreau; Thomas (Donna) Corcoran, Flandreau; Pat Kanz, Flandreau; Jan (Herman) Bos, Edgerton, MN; Dennis (Heather) Corcoran, Flandreau; Greg (Laurie) Corcoran, Apache Junction, AZ; Ray Corcoran, Flandreau; three sisters-in-law: Bonnie, Kathy and Linda; her brother-in-law: Mike and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa, son Jason Zabel, her parents, sister Phyllis, brother Roy and two sisters-in-law, LaVonne and Sharon.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, with burial in Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday at Skroch Funeral Chapel. www.skrochfc.com
