The city of Colman was recently awarded a grant to help offset the cost of updating their automatic meter system. Heartland Consumers Power District, the utility’s wholesale power supplier, provided a $5,000 energy efficiency grant to purchase a portable radio-based device to acquire data from utility meters. The new system will allow for more accurate and timely meter readings. Pictured are Heartland Communications Manager Ann Hyland and Colman Electric Superintendent Grant Groos.
