Ardelle M. Derdall, 86, of Brookings, SD passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.  Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 AM, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Lake Campbell Lutheran Church, Volga, SD, the family requests masks be worn at the funeral.  Services will be livestreamed through Lake Campbell Lutheran Facebook page. A public visitation without family present will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Rude’s Funeral Home, Brookings, SD. The family requests that the public wear masks. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Ardelle M. Koepp was born January 11, 1934 to Walter and Clara (Engelbrecht) Koepp on a farm near Montrose, SD.  She grew up on farms and attending country schools, graduating from Franklin Consolidated High School of rural Madison, SD in 1952.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church.
She worked in Madison, moving to Sioux Falls, SD in 1954 where she worked in the Medical Records Dept. at Sioux Valley Hospital.  On May 4, 1958 she was united in marriage with Don Derdall.  She and Don moved to a farm near Lake Campbell, south of Brookings, SD, where they raised their family and resided for almost 50 years.
In the Fall of 2007, they moved to Brookings.  The continued their active membership at Lake Campbell Lutheran Church.  She also continued her most important role as wife, mom, grandma and great grandma.  Time with family and friends were very special to her.  
In her words, “When it’s all said and done, the only thing that really matters is whether or not we know Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior.
Ardelle is survived by her husband, Don Derdall of Brookings, SD; children: David (Glenda) Derdall, Volga, SD, Julie (Rod) King, Volga, SD, Rhonda (Joel) Young, Brookings, SD; her grandchildren: Peter, Claire and Lucas Derdall, Faye King, Shelby (Matt) Glanzer and Kenzie Young; step grandchildren: Ty King, Jonah (Tricia) King and Carmen Young; 3 step great grandchildren: Leia & Eli King and Miriam Young; a sister-in-law, Neva Koepp and two brothers-in-law, Ken Wyman and Wayne (Arlyce) Derdall along with many nieces and nephews.
Ardelle was preceded in death by her brothers, Vernon Koepp and Marvin Koepp; her sister and her spouse, Evelyn and Leonard Anderson; sister-in-law, Marjorie Wyman and brother-in-law, Merle Derdall.
