The Moody County Museum will host their annual celebration of American independence and summer on Tuesday, July 4, from 10-2 p.m.
Raffles will be held for a handmade throw quilt and a vintage rocking chair. Tickets cost $1 and can be purchased at the Moody County Museum, Personal Touch and Bean and Vine. Individuals do not have to be present to win.
During the celebration, the museum and its original buildings, the Jones School, Depot and Riverbend Meeting House, will be open and free of charge. While no admission will be charged, donations are appreciated to help preserve the history of Moody County.
There will be a children’s bubble parade in the afternoon as well.
Many different food vendors will be at the celebration, including Jenny’s Jammin’ Burritos, Indian tacos, egg rolls and lefse. The celebration will have live music in the morning from Amy Ellsworth and Darlene Hemmer. The Flandreau City Band will play a concert at 1 p.m. and the raffle drawing will take place around 1:30 p.m.
