Aaron W. Scofield, age 46

Aaron W. Scofield, 46, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his home in rural Flandreau.

Aaron Wayne Scofield was born February 12, 1971 in the Brookings Hospital, son of Wayne and Darlene (Doyle) Heinricy. He received his elementary education starting in Brookings, SD and finishing at Belgrade, MT. He graduated from Colman High School in 1989. Aaron attended Dakota State College while working part-time at T & R Electric. He worked for the Moody County Highway Department and was currently at T & R Electric. Aaron raised Black Angus cattle on his acreage doing one heck of a good job with them and his new Blue Heeler pup – Baby. He loved it when he, Cody and Shane would work cattle and did “Outlaw Trucking” with the Ram trucks. His trip to San Diego with Shane and Wil to watch the “Chargers” play was a big event for him. Nascar was big on his list also. He got his Mom and Paula hooked on driver Jamie McMurray. Aaron enjoyed his lunch time at work with Paula in the guard shack planning events to attend together at SDSU, including basketball games and Prairie Repertory Theatre plays. Aaron was an avid reader, reading all of Louis L’amour’s books.    

Left to cherish his memory are his father Wayne Scofield, Garden City, KS; his mother Darlene (Doyle) Heinricy and her husband Dick, Colman, SD; brothers, Shane Scofield and Wil Scofield, both of Post Falls, ID; sisters, Paula Heinricy, Colman, SD; Natalie (Scofield) Breidenstine and her husband Mathew, Pinellas Park, FL; Tricia (Scofield) Burns and her husband Marty, Philip, SD; stepbrothers, Todd (Karen) Heinricy, Sioux Falls, SD; Dan (Jen) Heinricy, Parker, SD; several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Aaron was preceded in death by his brother Barry Scofield, Grandpa Wilbur Scofield, Grandma Elvera, Grandpa Lawrence Doyle and Grandma Dort.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Flandreau United Methodist Church with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau. www.skrochfc.com
