A weekend snow storm gave the area one of its biggest single-event snowfalls of the season. Nearly 7 inches of snow fell over the weekend leaving behind a considerable clean up chore on Monday morning. A rather impressive furrow of snow was pushed to the middle of main street waiting to be picked up and hauled away in Flandreau. Residents had to break out snow blowers and skid steer loaders to move the snow which had drifted in many spots when the snow was pushed by a brisk wind that started in the southeast and shifted to the north by Monday morning. The storm system continued moving its way to the east where it was expected to produce upwards of two feet of snow along the east coast of the United States.
Spring like temperatures are forecast to make their way back into the region by the weekend.
