HAYTI – In Region 2A volleyball, the No. 4 seeded Fliers beat the top-seeded Hamlin Chargers by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20. Flandreau beat Florence/Henry in five sets earlier in the week. No stats were available for that match.
Against the Chargers, who stopped the Fliers last season in regional play, Claire Sheppard led the Fliers with 16 kills, five blocks and two aces. Abby Schoeberl had 30 assists and 16 digs. Sadie Iott had eight kills, 11 digs and two aces. Lily Klein had seven kills and 15 digs. Addy Hammer had 19 digs and Hayden Neises had six digs.
The Fliers are now 18-9 and will be the No. 13 seed in the Class A SoDak 16. They’ll play No. 4 seeded Miller (25-6) on Tuesday in Huron. Results in next week’s Enterprise.
