The Flandreau girls’ basketball team dominated in its season opener as the Fliers defeated Chester 69-36.
Flandreau led 17-5 at the end of the first quarter and then led 43-17 at halftime. The Fliers would then extend their lead to 66-21 at the end of the third and were able to cruise to a win in their first game of the season.
Flandreau shot 50.9% from the field and was 4-of-13 from three. The Fliers were led by Lizzie Pavlis who had 21 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Klein also had six assists and four steals along with Hannah Krull.

The Flyers were led by Jacy Wolf who had 24 points. Flandreau used their height and won the rebound battle 35-22.

Flandreau hosts Hamlin at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Beresford on Thursday and then take part in the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic in the Colman-Egan gym on Saturday. They’ll face Arlington (2-0 as of press time) in the 6:30 p.m. game, main gym.
