Boys win own golf invite

COLMAN – The Colman-Egan boys and the Dell Rapids St. Mary girls took home first place at the Colman-Egan Invite on Thursday, May 5.
The Hawks narrowly beat Oldham-Ramona/Rutland as they had a team score of 260 and the Raiders shot a 261. DRSM and Chester were the only teams on the girls side that had enough players to have a team score. The Cardinals shot a 343 collectively and the Flyers finished with a 362.
Oldham-Ramona/Rutland’s Carter Wermers won the individual tournament with a 78. Colman-Egan’s Sawyer Uhing and Taylor Kriech finished second and third. They shot an 81 and 83, respectively.

Jack Whitehouse shot a 96 for the Hawks and Xander Mallory rounded things out for C-E with a 131. Zeke Wendell and Toby Lee each played unattached for the Hawks and shot 114 and 150, respectively.
The Hawks had just one golfer on the girls side, Berkely Groos, and she won the individual tournament with a 99. Chester’s Lexi Bauman came in second with a 101.
Colman-Egan was to play in the Dakota Valley Conference Meet at the Lake Region Golf Course in Arlington on Monday.
