Boys split with Canistota & SFL

Colman-Egan split a couple of non-conference games last week to close out the season with a 9-11 record.
This week they were to play in Region 3B on Monday and Tuesday. Monday’s game was against the number two seed from Dell Rapids St. Mary. A win puts them against the winner of the 3 vs. 6 seeds, Ethan and Bridgewater-Emery on Tuesday.
Canistota 78, Colman-Egan 59
COLMAN – The Colman-Egan Hawks boys basketball team lost to a top-notch Class B opponent, Canistota, on February 16, 78-59.
Jase Mousel led all scorers with 29 points and Jackson Wright had 10 with six rebounds. Four assists and five rebounds were made by Jackson Zwart.

Colman-Egan shot 40 percent in the game while the Canistota Hawks shot 57 percent. Canistota led at all quarter stops.

Colman-Egan 89, SF Lutheran 75
SIOUX FALLS – The Hawks wrapped up the regular season with a high scoring 89-75 win over Sioux Falls Lutheran.
SFL used four players in double digit scoring, but it wasn’t enough as three Hawk players scored 79 of the team’s 89 points.
Jase Mousel broke out with a 38 point scoring spree (17 of 40) and the Hawks shot 40 percent from the field. His teammate Jackson Zwart netted 23 points and Jack Mousel hit 18 counters.

Jackson Wright gave out eight assists and Zwart, seven.
Sioux Falls Luthern led after one period 21-15 and the Hawks led at half time 34-32. After three periods, the score was 50-48 but the Hawks kept the edge scoring 29 final period points to SFL’s 27.
The Hawks outrebounded SFL, 38-34 and made 15 turnovers to the hosts’ 22.
Grant Prouty scored 23 points, Sam Borg, 17, Rowen Becker 16 and Muoch Jud, 13. Jud also had 12 rebounds.
