Flandreau Fliers complete undefeated regular season

Top-ranked Flandreau finishes regular season with 20-0 record after defeating Baltic on Tuesday

The Flandreau Fliers capped off an undefeated regular season while Colman-Egan and Arlington each picked up wins in Tuesday night’s area girls basketball action.

Flandreau 64, Baltic 20

FLANDREAU — The Fliers opened the game by leading 21-2 at the end of the first quarter and stretched the lead to 42-4 at halftime. Flandreau led 59-10 at the end of the third quarter before Baltic won the fourth quarter 10-5.

Hannah Krull led the Fliers with 15 points while Lily Klein had 11 points and Morgan Sheppard had 10 points.

Caitlyn Pickett led Baltic with seven points.

After finishing the regular season with a 20-0 record, Flandreau will prepare for their first game in the Region 2A Tournament on Feb. 20.

Colman-Egan 52, Iroquois/Lake Preston 45

LAKE PRESTON — The Sharks led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter but the Hawks jumped in front by a score of 28-22 at halftime. C-E led 45-36 at the end of the fourth quarter and held on as ILP won the fourth quarter 9-7.

Brynlee Landis led Colman-Egan with 23 points and Kaylee Voelker had 17 points for the Hawks.

Adison Moore had 20 points, nine steals, four assists and a block for the Sharks while Hadlee Holt had 17 points, seven rebounds and a block. Kera Dubro had six rebounds and Faith Steffensen had two assists for ILP.

C-E improved to 13-7 and will prepare for the Region 3B Tournament which begins on Feb. 20.

ILP fell to 9-10 and will wrap up the regular season by traveling to Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday night.

Arlington 55, Chester 46

ARLINGTON — Chester took a 16-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 34-22 at halftime but Arlington out-scored the Flyers 19-8 in the third quarter to take a 41-40 lead and won the fourth quarter by a score of 14-4 to earn the win.

Addalyn Steffensen had 17 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists for the Cardinals while Jaelyn Huntimer had 15 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Harley Johnson also finished in double figures with 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Jacy Wolf led Chester with 21 points, five assists, three steals and three rebounds while Katelyn Schut and Emery Larson had 11 points each. Emmerson Eppard also had 13 rebounds in the loss.

Arlington improved to 17-2 and will finish the regular season when they travel to Elkton-Lake Benton on Friday night.
